REMINDER! APPLY! SHARE!- We have a FREE (grant-funded) Buffalo parent/student CHW training opportunity coming up this week and next with a few spots remaining! We’ll be running two cohorts of 15-20 people, one on August 27th/28th; and another on September 3rd/4th. 9am-4pm each day; outdoors and/or in socially distanced and well-ventilated spaces at D’Youville College. Participants will receive a daily stipend, and a certificate issued by the Community Health Worker Network of Buffalo and D’Youville College School of Health Professionals upon completion of the program. We provide training to participants in the Buffalo Public Schools Wellness Policy, “Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child” model, and help them to get involved in their building Whole Child/Wellness Teams. This training builds valuable knowledge and skills to support families in school and community settings; and the certificate is helpful for college and job applications, to add to resumes, etc.
