December Chew and Chat: Getting Health Insurance
We had a diverse group of service providers, CHW's, community members, and individuals looking to receive information on the NYS Health Exchange, and how to obtain health insurance. Over pizza at Planned Parenthood, we learned about where to get information on coverage and how to enroll. Group participation and sharing of resources helped enrich the event and provide answers to all those that participated. Check out the http://www.healthbenefitexchange.ny.gov/ to get more information about plans for you, your family, and your clients. Open enrollment goes until 2/15. Medicare open enrollment is currently closed. Medicaid enrollment is on a rolling basis. You may make changes to your plan at any time if you have a life qualifying event (change in family status or possible change of job/income).
