The Community Health Worker Network of Buffalo develops meaningful & collaborative projects & partnerships based on the following framework:
Training & Technical Assistance
We provide training, direction and support to many organizations, agencies & institutions including schools, hospitals, clinics and community based organiziations.
Research & Policy Advocacy
We support our initiatives with Research Based Programming, and continuously aggregate qualitative and quantitative data from our training to advocate for policy changes.
Building Community Capacity for Change
We have trained and facilitated learning sessions for over 600 Community Health Workers and other frontline workers, community members, and a diverse array of professionals from over 100 agencies and institutions in Western NY since 2011.
Our Current Key Initiatives Include:
CHW NETWORK WORKFORCE & LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
Partners with employers to provide education on CHW scope of practice and standards for CHW wages, benefits, and opportunities for advancement.
SCHOOL HEALTH & WELLNESS COLLABORATIVE
Trains and supports Buffalo Public Schools parents, students, and community members as CHWs to support the health of their peers in schools, homes and the community.
